The Unseen World by Liz Moore

The Unseen WorldThe Unseen World by Liz Moore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was engaged by this book from the beginning to the end. I especially related to the main character, Ada, since she’s about my age and it follows her life from childhood until about middle-age.

It has a mix of coming of age and sci-fi-ish kind of concepts, like: What is consciousness? What is identity? What role should technology, especially AI, play in our lives?

Layered on top of that are questions about family, most especially, an exploration of what it means for a parent to betray his/her child. At what point does protecting your child from knowledge stop being protection, but betrayal?

So, anyway, I am surprised that I haven’t heard more about this novel, given how impressed I am by it.
