This book was a slow starter for me. The first third was so dull that I would have stopped reading it if I didn’t know that it was so short (plus I was waiting on a bunch of holds at the library). It got really good around 2/3rds of the way through. That made the slog through the beginning rewarding, but was it worth it? I don’t know. I thought the fantasy aspects were really well-done and creative. It is Neil Gaiman, after all.
