I picked up this book because I needed something light after my last few reads. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did. The protagonist came off as very human to me and I liked that about her.
Also, I knew that the setting was in Philadelphia, but I didn’t know how much of the setting would be in the foreground. In this case, it was a lot. I love books with a setting that feels really alive and becomes a character itself. I loved it even more given that it’s a city I know well. I’ve been missing Philadelphia a lot, lately, and this book seems to have heard my call. There’s even a part where the main character travels across country and misses Philadelphia.
